Despite the High Temperatures, the Teams Remain Strong in the Final Stretch of the Season.
First of all, hello again! We’re back, fully charged, to keep up with the latest news in the racing world across all teams sponsored by Puig. To summarize the month of August, we can say it has been a fantastic month for the teams, with excellent results.
Let’s go back to the weekend of August 11th at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve. In the WCR category, Ana Carrasco #22 (Evan Bros Racing Yamaha Team) possibly staged the closest finish in World WCR, in her eternal battle with Sara Sánchez. After coming out of the last corner, Carrasco seized the opportunity and claimed the top spot on the podium in Race 2. Meanwhile, in the WSBK category, Alex Lowes #22 delivered his ninth podium of the season with two third-place finishes in both the Superpole Race and Race 2. Despite an intense battle with the current leader of the overall standings, the number 22 remains in the fight to climb positions and close the narrow 10-point gap between him and the third place in the standings, Álvaro Bautista.
The weekend of August 23rd, 24th, and 25th was a complete success for the Tecmas Racing Team at Circuit Carole, celebrating the victories of their respective riders: on one hand, Antoine Chapeau #58 finished first in the European Bikes category in both Race 1 and Race 2. His teammate, Kenny Foray #1, also swept both races with a first-place finish, establishing himself as a legend in the FSBK by achieving his 50th victory in the championship's history. In the Challenger category, Loïc Arbel #23 added another podium finish in both races, also taking first place in both.
Finally, this past weekend in Estoril, Team Laglisse once again celebrated the successes of their young riders. As usual, Borja Gómez #12 secured first place in the Superbikes category; Unai Orradre #10 continues to strengthen his leadership with a third-place finish in the race, which reinforces his position; and Eduardo Montero #21, in the Stock1000 category, took pole position and won both races.
Puig also supported the 24 Hours of Endurance in the Vall del Tenes Ciclomotor event in Lliçà d’Amunt, a unique competition for mopeds of no more than 50cc that has been held annually since 1979. It was 24 thrilling hours for everyone present, on an extremely technical and demanding circuit. We are very proud to be part of and present for another edition!
