The official Kawasaki WorldSBK team and the accessory manufacturer Puig have renewed their collaboration agreement for the 2020 season.
Puig has been the technical supplier of the Kawasaki Racing Team during the 2017, 2018 and 2019 seasons, where Team Green were awarded the riders’ and constructors’ title in the Superbike World Championship.
Biel Roda, KRT’s marketing manager, has highlighted the commercial and technical collaboration with the manufacturer: “Our relationship with Puig is an important factor within the Kawasaki Racing Team project. Puig carries out their product development via 3D simulation technology, which allows us to improve in the aerodynamic sector.
For many seasons, Provec Racing has equipped their bikes with Puig domes: their proximity to the KRT headquarters and the ease of working with this family company, passionate about racing, are also important factors for us. We are very pleased to be able to renew the commercial as well as technical collaboration with Puig.”
Based in Granollers (Barcelona) –the same place as the Kawasaki Racing Team headquarters – Puig has designed and distributed motorcycle accessories since 1964. Currently it is one of the major manufacturers in the motorcycle accessory sector, exporting to over 60 countries.
Opting for top level competition hand in hand with the Kawasaki Racing Team is a reflection of Puig’s desire to remain at the forefront of technological innovation in motorcycling.
Joan Puig, CEO of Motoplastics Puig: “The continued and close technical collaboration with the KRT team has allowed us throughout the years to test new materials, shapes and designs that are already being applied to the products of this new catalogue.”
With this collaboration, Kawasaki Racing Team and Puig hope to achieve a new World Champion title in WorldSBK with Jonathan Rea and Alex Lowes as riders.
