Tecmas Racing Team and Team Laglisse dominate the FSBK and ESBK this past weekend.
We start at the Circuit Européen Pau Arnos, so settle in and get ready: we have a lot to discuss. This weekend, the heat was intense, with track temperatures exceeding 50 degrees. Despite the high temperatures, the top 200 riders from France gathered to compete before the summer break. Kenny Foray (#1) of the TECMAS RACING TEAM took the double win by winning both Superbikes races. Foray continues to prove he's unbeatable on the track, managing to extend his lead over his main rival and solidify his position at the top with a significant advantage before the final sprint of the season.
His teammate, Antoine Chapeau (#58), didn't fall behind in the European Bikes category. With a third place in both races, he finished fourth in the overall standings. Despite the intense heat, he managed to get the BMW S1000RR on the podium, collecting valuable points and closing in on the lead.
Meanwhile, Loïc Arbel (#23) took the win in the Challenger category, a subcategory within the Superbikes. Although he races alongside his teammate Kenny Foray, Arbel is evaluated separately, as this category's main goal is to give emerging and young riders with less experience a chance in the championship.
We then moved close to home to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, where Team Laglisse celebrated in style after achieving some incredible results.
On Saturday, Unai Orradre (#10) and Borja Gómez (#12) from Team Laglisse took first and second place on the podium, with Edu Montero (#21) also celebrating a second place finish in the Stock1000 category. To top off the celebrations, on Sunday Borja and Unai swapped positions, with Montero taking the win, enjoying a competitive yet joyful race alongside his teammates.
From the Box77 team, Uriel Hidalgo (#61) shone with his first podium in the Kawasaki Ninja Spirit Trophy category by achieving a second place in SS300 on Saturday. The fight for first place was so close that it wasn't clear who would come out on top until the very last minute.
As we predicted a few weeks ago, Unai continues to solidify his lead in the championship with only a few rounds left, Borja is in third place in the overall standings, and Eduardo is in second place.
We'll meet again at the end of August, and there's sure to be more excitement until the end. We wish the riders a well-deserved rest and hope they recharge their batteries, because the best is yet to come!
