Yamaha World Supersport Team
The Yamaha World Supersport Team is without doubt one of the best squads in the championship and is currently leading the World Championship.
PUIG is the windscreen sponsor of this great team. The team is using the brand new windscreen's line called: Z-Racing screen. The aggresive look and the great perfomance of such a sharped screen has been tested by them with great results and Wilco Zeelenberg, Yamaha racing team manager, does not want anything else on his R6s.
The team has a tremendous reputation in the 600cc class, consistently placing their bikes among the front runners and last year was no exception. 2008 saw riders Parkes and Foret finish the championship 4th and 6th respectively, an especially great achievement for Foret as he sat out a number of races following a crash at Brno. This year the flying Frenchman is joined by rising British star Cal Crutchlow, a rider who is already proving to be incredibly quick and competitive on the 2009 YZF-R6 in pre-season testing.
Born out of the team originally operated by Yamaha Germany, the squad was brought under the wing of Yamaha Motor Europe at the start of 2007. Managed by Dutchman Wilco Zeelenberg, a former Supersport and GP rider himself, the team has a very international feel to it with team members from Britain, Germany and France. Despite the varying backgrounds of the personnel, the team is a close-knit unit - combining the stereotypical German efficiency with a fun loving attitude that reflects well with that of the riders.
