The KRT team riders visit the Puig facilities
The Catalan company will continue collaborating with the WorldSBK team for another season
Jonathan Rea and Alex Lowes were the main protagonists of the visit made by the Kawasaki Racing Team to the Puig facilities in Granollers. And it wasn't just another visit because it marked the sixth anniversary of Puig's collaboration with the leading WorldSBK team.
The British riders, together with the KRT staff led by Biel Roda and those responsible for Puig, were able to see firsthand the facilities and production processes of a firm that designs, manufactures and distributes motorcycle accessories since 1964 and whose commitment to competition with the Kawasaki Racing Team is the best showcase to exhibit its capacity for innovation.
The WorldSBK and the reference team on the grid such as the KRT is the best test bench for Puig, a firm that has found in the world of competition a challenge of constant improvement to be at the forefront in the development of materials and products that later have their reflection in components for street motorcycles.
Biel Roda, director of marketing for the Kawasaki Racing Team: "The visit to the Puig facilities has made us especially excited, the riders have been able to meet all the staff who work with us throughout the year to develop windshields and other parts of the Jonathan Rea and Alex Lowes together with the team's marketing and communication department, we have been able to see how their technical and development department works with their simulation software, not only for racing, but in all their products for street bikes In addition, we have been able to follow the entire production system and many industrial secrets have been entrusted to us! Now we understand even more the reason for its product quality. We have liked to see how a family business, it has a totally international 'approach' where research and constant improvements are in the DNA of the company and its workers. It is our perfect technical partner!"
Carles Puig, export director of Puig: “It was a pleasure to have the KRT riders and staff at our facilities. We were especially excited that Jonathan Rea and Alex Lowes met our technical and development staff who try to improve their designs every day to make them more efficient and attractive. The feedback and interest from Rea and Lowes regarding the design and development dazzled the Puig team and they provided new ideas that we are already working on. They will always have the doors open and delighted that they return one day. In the meantime, we will continue to give 120% to do our bit for them to achieve many more successes.”
The FIM Superbike World Championship starts from April 8 to 10 with the Pirelli Aragón Round at Motorland Aragón and will have its second national stop at the Catalunya Round, from September 23 to 25, at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya where KRT and Puig will race 'at home'.
