The Puig-sponsored team kicked off the first MotoGP calendar event with more than positive results.
The Chang International Circuit (Thailand) was the stage for the first round of the MotoGP World Championship season. Riders and fans had been eagerly awaiting this moment since November, eager to enjoy the thrill of race weekends once again.
For HONDA HRC CASTROL, with Joan Mir (#36) and Luca Marini (#10) in their ranks, this event had special significance: debuting and improving the Honda RC213V. Despite the high temperatures, exceeding 50 degrees on the asphalt, Mir delivered the spectacle many were expecting, securing a solid ninth place in the Sprint Race with a competitive pace.
However, luck was not on his side on Sunday. An unfortunate crash on lap 14 forced him to retire from the race. Despite this setback, his teammate Luca Marini finished in 12th place, earning valuable points for the team.
The next event will be in Argentina, from March 14 to 16, where the Japanese team will aim to build on their strong start to the season and achieve better results.
