Phillip Island test

KRT is ready

The Kawasaki Racing Team is already in Australia, where the 2018 season will begin next weekend.

Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes have run for two days at the Phillip Island circuit where they were able to make their last tests before the first WSBK race.

The riders have found a path characterized by strong gusts of wind but that has not been able to stop the current champion to lead the test with a better lap of 1'30.598. Sykes was the third fastest with a best lap of 1'30.804 despite having suffered a fall on the first day that caused some discomfort in the ankle. Rea also touched the ground with two falls but both riders claim to be prepared and appreciate the work they have done their machineries and physiotherapists.

The riders will have a different schedule than usual next weekend with three training sessions on Friday 23, the first race on Saturday 24 and the second race on Sunday 25.
