Reviewing the trajectory of the English rider, we can begin by highlighting his amazing 2015, that included 14 wins in a total of 23 podiums and a victory in the championship that was harvested long before the end of the season.
In 2016, Rea was a clear champion in his second year at Kawasaki, scoring nine victories, almost reaching the magic barrier of 500 points once again.
After such a start in his career at Kawasaki, the possibility of another title was real in 2017, but his achievements in the Ninja ZX-10RR exceeded his wildest dreams in making history and in various ways. He even added the ability to score fairly regular Tissot Superpole victories to his growing variety of talents.
Now Rea has another challenge to face, and this time with considerably fewer engine revolutions at the top end of his Ninja ZX-10RR, due to new technical regulations.
The story of Alex Lowes in Kawasaki begins in 2020 with his new signing for the current champion team, the Kawasaki Racing Team.
After winning the British Superbike Championship victory in 2013, this experienced rider has spent the last 7 seasons as part of the WorldSBK grid. Next season he will do it at the controls of his new Ninja ZX-10RR.
The Kawasaki Racing Team has been able to benefit from regularly updated parts development program and direct technical support from the factory that has allowed them to bring their WorldSBK ZX-10RR to excellence.
KRT is proud to reflect on the deep roots of Kawasaki in WorldSBK. The message is the same in 2020 as it always was: Kawasaki uses a street machine from the same warehouse that Kawasaki dealers pull from, for the basis of their WorldSBK racing motorcycle.
With many components and technologies that pass directly from the street motorcycle to the racing motorcycle, the Ninja ZX-10RR is the definitive example of the true spirit of Superbike racing.
